Essential Oil Safety

  • Keep oils out reach of children. If they manage to open it and drink it call poison control.
  • Keep out of eyes, wash hands well. In case of contact with eye, wash eye with another oil such as olive oil (water and oil do not mix). Water will make it worse.
  • Follow label directions for diffusing, topical, and dietary oils. Over using certain oils may be dangerous. They are used a medicine, you wouldn’t overuse medications, so don’t overuse oils, a little goes a long way.
  • Dilute oils properly. Follow dilution recommendations, especially for use on kids.
  • Certain oils are called hot oils: such as lemon, oregano, thieves, exodus II, thyme, lemongrass, cinnamon bark, peppermint, and clove. They can burn if left on skin undiluted. Wash them off completely off hands with soap and water if you spilled any on your self and surfaces.
  • If any oils feels hot/burning on the body dilute with a carrier oil for relief or wash off.
  • If pregnant, look up the oils you should not use during pregnancy – there are certain ones that cause contractions or other issues. They are very potent if you are using high quality oils! Let your doctor know you are using essential oils.
  • Consult a Reference guide or get the phone app that I use “REF Guide 4EO”.
  • Citrus oils are photosensitive (except for grapefruit). Do not expose area oil was applied to, to sun for at least 12 hours.

Free baby registry items

Sign up for a registry at these stores & websites and get freebies. Here’s my loot!

Babies R Us – I was a little disappointed how little they had in there

Target – they have the most loot!

Amazon – make a baby registry, you or someone purchases $10 from it, and complete the categories (or click skip) and they will send you a box of goodies! They vary but I got a huge swaddle cloth.

Motherhood – purchase something at their store. Usually you’ll get this with your first purchase there and they won’t give it again with your next child, but I bought something online from them and received these:

Seventh generation: www.seventhgeneration.com register for their Generation Good and they have samples they’ll send.

Enfamil: I’m not sure how they got my address, as I’m breastfeeding but I’m sure if you register on their website you’ll get the same bundle!

Similac – same story, they somehow got my address. Sign up on their website. Even when breastfeeding, these are nice just in case or to donate.

BuyBuy Baby: I’ve seen people posting their goodies from there but sadly I don’t have one locally. Looks like they give tons of items!
